EXAMPLE:
1939
Sept 1st, 1939—Invasion of Poland: Hitler invades Poland using new strategy called Blitzkrieg. This swift, surprise attack leads to the fall of Poland in one short month.
Sept 3rd, 1939—Declaration of War: Britain and France declare war on Germany. Canada declares war a few days later on Sep 10th.
