Imagine writing a book so elegantly crafted that it speaks to the hearts and minds of people, a hundred or more years after your death. Although classic novels may be a bit of a struggle for a 21st century teen reader (with old-fashioned language and settings of another time and place) I think they are well worth it. I encourage my grade 12 students read at least one.
