Shared Experience: Art and War - Australia, Britain and Canada in the Second World War
This site is maintained by the Australian War Memorial. It provides
free access to a collection of materials produced by Canadian, British
and Australian war artists during the Second World War 1939-1945. They
offer an interesting exploration into the impact of war on individuals,
covering conditions and experiences on both the battlefields and on the
homefront in these nations. Topics covered include: images of troops,
casualties, bombings and damage during the London Blitz, concentration
camps and battlefields.

Perseus Art & Archaeology Artifact Browser
Look through a massive library of art objects, sites, and
buildings. The library's catalogs document 1305 coins, 1909 vases,
2003 sculptures, 179 sites, 140 gems, and 424 buildings. Each
catalog entry has a description of the object and its context;
most have images. Descriptions and images have been produced in
collaboration with many museums, institutions, and scholars.

The Virtual Museum of Canada is an online repository of
multimedia exhibits and other Canadian cultural resources produced out
of a close collaboration between Canada's museums and galleries and the
Department of Canadian Heritage. These digital
displays cover a wide range of subjects, from art history to contemporary design, indigenous arts and handicrafts to garden design.

Centre for Contemporary Canadian Art : the Canadian art database was founded in 1995 and is based in Toronto, Canada. Available in both French and English, the CCCA website offers the Canadian art database - a growing database of text and images which aims to "introduce and showcase the careers of Canada's professional artists and art writers to a global audience". The database is arranged into a number of sections: Artists, Designers, Writers, Projects and Learning Resources. Artists can be viewed via a list of names or category.

ArtVenture : a collector's challenge Produced by Library and Archives Canada, this educational resource has been produced to accompany the online exhibit of the Peter Winkworth collection of 18th and 19th Century Canadian art. It aims to teach students about Canadian history through themes such as 'Life in the City', 'Work', 'Play', 'Travel', 'Portraits', and 'Immigration'. In 'ArtVenture', students "enter a virtual art shop and browse through artwork from the Winkworth collection". By completing activities, "students will come to understand how the Winkworth collection can teach them about Canada and its past"
