Review the Textbook
Textbooks can be helpful tools when we want to find background information, but it is important to remember that textbooks, like all written documents, have authors who write with specific intentions and from certain perspectives. As you read (a) textbook passage ... pay attention to how the specific order of events and language tells a certain "story" of the past. Imagine how someone might tell a completely different story.
