Suggested Achievement Indicators
The following set of indicators may be used to assess student achievement for each corresponding prescribed learning outcome.
Students who have fully met the prescribed learning outcome are able to:
- Identify and clarify a problem or issue
- Identify primary sources (e.g., original documents, political cartoons, interviews, surveys) and secondary sources (e.g., textbooks, articles, reports, summaries, historical monographs) for selected topics
- Plan and conduct research using primary and secondary sources, including sources
− representing a range of perspectives
- Assess the reliability of information sources on selected topics in terms of bias and point of view
- Evaluate and organize collected data (e.g., outlines, summaries, notes, timelines, charts)
- Interpret information and data from a variety of maps, graphs, and tables
- Interpret and present data in a variety of forms (e.g., oral, written, and graphic)
- Accurately cite sources
