The Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers is an international coalition of non-governmental organisations which is campaigning for the universal prohibition of the military recruitment of any person under the age of eighteen.
Impact of Armed Conflict on Children
This is a report requested by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in late 1993. The author is Graca Machel, who served as Mozambique's Minister of Education. It includes information on child refugees, child soldiers, land mines, sexual exploitation and gender-based violence. It also includes the ten recommendations made as a result of the study.A special body of the United Nations which aims to promote and protect the rights of all children affected by armed conflict. Its website provides information on its remit, history and activities. It includes free access to all United Nations documents relating to its work. These include press releases, resolutions, treaties, country case files and other reports. Key areas of concern are child soldiers; girls and war; refugees; and sexual violence against children in war zones.
