Canadian City Challenge
You have been assigned to represent a city in Canada in a contest for the title of Canada's Best City
In groups of 3, you will advertise your city to prove that it is truly the best in Canada and show why people would want to live there. Here's what you will include:
-
The major economies of your city (what do people do there? What makes money for the city/region, what valuable resources are there?)
- Include numbers and stats
-
What is the physical geography of your region? (What does it look like? What region is it in? Is it flat, grassy, mountainous? Rivers? Lakes?)
- Include images
-
What is the climate (region, temperature, weather, etc.) of your city?
- Graphs, numbers, charts
-
The demographic makeup of your city?
- Density, population, area, growth rate and an explanation of each
- Where is your city? What does it look like?
- What makes your city unique or special?
- Anything else you find interesting! (history is always a good one!)
-
Using the information your group has collected, put together a presentation, skit or commercial on your city.
- Make sure that you include all of the information you discovered above and visuals, remember you want to convince us that your city is the best in Canada!
- You will have five minutes to present your case to your classmates and hopefully win their vote.
- A published site of your information will be handed in
- Include a citation/works referenced list of the sources you used
