"On the Road Again" - BC History Road Trip
Your task is to design a road trip through BC highlighting interesting historical sites in BC's early development (pre-1914).
Here's what you'll need to include:
1) Choose 10 historical sites in BC that would help visitors understand the development of BC History. There also needs to be a sequence of when you see them.
Include sites that exemplifies BC's:
- Fur Trade History
- Gold Rush History
- CPR History
- Beginnings of Vancouver
- Racial Discrimination around the turn of the 20th Century
- Resource Economy (Coal, Lumber, other primary resources)
2) Start your research:
- For each site, find at least one 19th Century (or close to) picture and one current photo of the site. Make sure you cite the photo in your presentation.
- For each site, find information about:
1) How did the site begin? (when created? why? economic reasons? by whom?)
3) What would we find at the site today? (what is it's current purpose?, what would we see?, what's interesting? map and tour?)
3) When information is put together, it should be organized with an interactive map.
4) Cite your sources using MLA standards.
