Canadian History for Kids 1713-1814
You will create a storybook of the life of someone who lives in Canada (yes your character will live until he/she is 100 years old or more). The book’s purpose is to show how French influence gradually waned from the colonies and how Canadians avoided becoming American, meanwhile, your character goes through his/her story.
How to start:
1) Think about where your character might be from - there are 3 perspectives that you can base your story on: native of New France, British Loyalists, or native of the 13 Colonies that’s anti-British.
2) Think of a conflict that your character needs to solve (use your English 9/10 knowledge of plot graphs)
- It could be an individual conflict, conflict vs nature, or conflict vs environment
- How does the conflict build? How might your character solve it?
3) Think how the events below may affect or interact with your plot graph and your character
-examples of these types of stories are: Forrest Gump, Titanic, Pearl Harbor, The Patriot, Benjamin Button, Back to the Future, The Last Emperor, etc.
